Rachel Mousie is a singer-songwriter/indie-pop artist with R&B and jazz influences. Her music features sparse but meaningful piano parts, looped vocal harmonies, and percussive rhythms (snaps, claps, shaker) behind melodic vocal lines. Influences include Nina Simone, Feist, Supertramp, Joan Osborne, Norah Jones, Radiohead, and many more. She got her start playing and writing music in Athens, OH while in college and has continued to build her repertoire to include 3 albums of original music. Her third album, Talk To Your Babies, is slated to be released in the fall of 2017 and features the looping station as well as haunting cello/string parts. Rachel is a Cincinnati native who is actively engaged with her community through her work as a case-manager for children with behavioral/mental health issues and volunteer work with children experiencing grief. Rachel has been communicating with others through her music for over ten years and is absolutely thrilled to be a part of Midpoint Music Festival.
