Bella Ruse (Columbus, Ohio)
A highlight of past MidPoint Music Festivals, quirky Folk/Pop duo Bella Ruse tour in a vegetable oil-powered van, which has taken them to shows with Kate Nash, Sarah McLachlan and many others. In 2010, Bella Ruse’s song “Push On” was picked by McLachlan and Terry McBride as the winner of a talent search that earned the group a spot on that year’s Lilith Fair tour. Bella Ruse’s Kuhzoo, which did well on college radio (spending several weeks on CMJ’s Top 200), was followed up by this summer’s Those Were Good Times, Weren’t They? full-length album. Bella Ruse recently moved from Minneapolis to Columbus, Ohio where they teach music and have built a recording studio in their home.
