Jody Stapleton and The Generals (Cincinnati)
After his band of many years, energetic Roots Rock group The Stapletons, came to an end, singer/guitarist Jody Stapleton kept the last name and took to his home basement studio to write a batch of new songs. Inspired by the AM radio Pop of the ’70s, he forged what would become the infectious, occasionally psychedelic Garage Pop sound of his new project, Jody Stapleton and the Generals. The group released the full-length debut, Turn On Your Lights, last summer. The album is a great collection of fuzzy, mostly upbeat Psych Pop nuggets that float between dreamy soundscapery and punchier, sunshiney Pop Rock.
