Sugar Baron (Pontiac, Mich.)
Frontman Jan Kruszewski once said that Sugar Baron’s goal was to “reach as many people as we can and help them cut loose, get down and stop taking themselves so seriously. We act strange, we look great, and we aren’t embarrassed to boogie or shred the kazoo.” The trio takes a range of Dance and Pop music styles and creates an infectious, unique sound that is propulsive and laden with dynamic guitar and a hailstorm of electronic sounds. The group followed up its 2012 debut LP, Monet on the Dance Floor, with this year’s Sharon is Karen full-length and have played shows with artists like We Came As Romans, The Summer Set and Misery Signals.
