The KillTones (Cincinnati)
Formed as a powerful, dirty Blues-based duo, guitarist Josh Pilot and singer Clinton Vearil converted The KillTones into a quartet over the past three years, developing a soulful, relentless Rock sound that was showcased on a pair of EPs and last year’s self-titled full-length. The band’s adrenalized songs have a Garage aura and Punk drive, but Vearil and Pilot are downright virtuosic on their instruments, providing vocals that are raw and real, but also impressive in their range, and guitar riffs and solos on par with the pioneering Blues/Rock masters that influenced The KillTones’ intense, powder-keg style.
